Letโ€™s get started

The Scoop

98-year-old Duncan Hilling from Saundersfoot enjoyed a special reunion during a visit to the Tank Museum at Bovington, Dorset. Duncan was there to see the wartime Universal Carrier he drove in World War II. The image below shows Duncan at the controls of the Universal Carrier.

Duncan was able to climb aboard the vehicle during his visit with family members. Duncan said, โ€œI felt like I had gone back in time 80 years. I spent two years with the same five carrier drivers. We drove all over India, Japan and Malaya.โ€ During his time in Japan in 1945, Duncan visited both Hiroshima and Nagasaki, cities destroyed by the first atomic bombs.

The 37th Camrose Vintage Working Day proved to be a massive success and raised ยฃ25,000 for local charities. A total of 28 different charities benefited from the Camrose Vintage Working Day held this summer and over the years, the event has donated ยฃ285,000 to charity.

It is a fantastic occasion so mark your calendars for next yearโ€™s Camrose Vintage Working Day, which will take place on Saturday, August 23, 2025.
