The Scoop
The Waverley Steamer is the world’s largest seagoing paddle steamer and it is set to return to Pembrokeshire waters in 2025. Built in 1946, the Waverley Steamer was back in West Wales in 2023 having been absent for 30 years. She has operated in preservation since 1975 and become a “national treasure” carrying over 6 million passengers. In addition to the magnificent views of the Pembrokeshire coastline, you can enjoy the traditional dining saloon and period lounges on board the steamer.

Last year, the Waverley Steamer visited Fishguard and Milford Haven and we wait with great excitement to see what is on offer in 2025. The new timetable is due to be announced in March.
The Tenby Boxing Day Swim has been taking place for over 50 years and the 2024 edition was the best yet. The 2023 swim saw a record-breaking crowd of 1,050 bathers but that was beaten in 2024 as at least 1,150 people braved the cold water for charity. The second record to be broken was the amount of money raised for charity on the day of the swim, with a total of £2,599.44 donated on Boxing Day.

The fancy dress theme was superheroes, a tribute to the RNLI, and the swimmers did not disappoint with some fantastic costumes on display. The full total raised for charity has yet to be counted but is expected to be a significant sum.
