The Scoop

Marine Walk has long been a popular path for locals in Fishguard and Goodwick. It is a wonderful walkway with stunning views of the bay. This week, Marine Walk had a new addition in the form of a huge seahorse sculpture (You can see 5ft 11” of me standing next to it for scale!). The magnificent sculpture was created by Gideon Peterson in his Clunderwen workshop.

The sculpture forms part of the Art Afoot/Celf ar Droed trail which will officially launch on the 15th of December. A total of eight augmented reality artworks and six sculptures have been commissioned as part of the initiative.

The Heads-Up Gardening Group (HUG) is run by Hywel Dda University Health Board’s (UHB) community neuro-rehabilitation service in partnership with Scolton Manor Park. The group offers people living with the effects of brain injury and neurological conditions the chance to participate in gardening and outdoor activities.

The gardening group has had a positive impact and Phillippa Lee, Clinical Lead Occupational Therapist at Hywel Dda UHB, said: “It has been an absolute pleasure and privilege to be able to facilitate a local therapeutic group, bringing people together to develop themselves, learn to self-manage their symptoms and support each other’s rehabilitation journey.”
