The Scoop
This weekend sees the Fishguard Bay Food Festival hosted by the Fishguard Bay Sustainable Food Initiative. Between the 11th and 13th October, there will be a series of events and activities taking place to celebrate local food. There is something for all ages including cookery demos, local producers market, kids activities, talks, and foraging.

There will be a good mix of free and ticketed events and we have listed some of the main attractions in our events section below.
Buying a lottery ticket is a weekly routine for many people and there is a new village lottery available to support local projects. The Saundersfoot Community Lottery was launched at the beginning of October and is played once per month. The lottery was created thanks to the hard work of local volunteers and businesses.

There are various cash prizes available each month and a ticket costs £5. The money raised from each draw is split 50/50 between the prizes and a fund to support local initiatives. The good news is you do not have to be a resident of Saundersfoot to play the lottery and you can click the blue link at the top of this segment to enter. Good luck!
Following significant refurbishment, it was exciting to see the Little and Broad Haven Lifeboat Station reopened in September. The work has upgraded the station for the 21st century and the ribbon was cut by children with family links to the lifeboat station.

Speaking about the event, Lifeboat operations manager Andy Grey said: “Not only did the weather hold out, but personnel from the station, including officers and crew, branch members, and shop volunteers, were in attendance, along with guests from our neighbouring RNLI stations.
“To make it even more special, the children of the crew were invited to formally open the new refurbishment of the station.”
