The Scoop

Manor Wildlife Park announced the birth of a Sumatran tiger cub named Zaza this week. She is the first tiger cub to be born in a zoo in Wales and it is extra special because the Sumatran tiger is one of the world's most endangered tiger subspecies.

Speaking about the arrival, the Animal Manager at Manor Wildlife Park, Rick Newton, said "This birth is a testament to the dedication and hard work of our team, who have worked tirelessly to create an environment where these magnificent animals can thrive."

"Zaza's arrival is a beacon of hope for the conservation of Sumatran tigers, and we are committed to ensuring she grows up healthy and strong."

Zaza has been exploring her surroundings and you may be lucky enough to see her on your next visit to the zoo.

The 5th of July was a regular day on the Tenby Golf Course until the discovery of a human-like hand. The gruesome find was made near the 9th hole of the course and the police were quickly called to the scene.

With initial scans of the hand inconclusive, the Crime Scene Investigation (CSI) was brought in to conduct further tests. There was plenty of relief when tests confirmed it was not a human hand and was from an animal of an unknown species. Golf Manager David Hancock, said “It certainly added a bit of excitement and mystery to our usual routine.”

The VIBE School of Dance was selected to represent Wales at the Dance World Cup in Prague and secured a top five position. It was a fantastic achievement for the dancers, who worked extremely hard to represent Wales on the world stage.

To underline the enormity of their achievement, there were 66 countries and 9,500 competitors at the event in the Czech Republic.
