The Scoop
Kara Ellard broke the record for the number of laps around Llys Y Fran when she completed 12 laps of the reservoir in just one day. The previous record was 10 laps set by Katie Harower and by beating the record, Kara walked 75 miles, with over 9000ft of elevation. The male record for the number of laps was broken on the same day by Callum Davies.

Speaking about her achievement, Kara said, โI am still processing it all which is strange. My body is tired and my brain even more so. Finishing that 12th loop was painfully blissful and having to round up the miles right at the end to get to 75 miles might seem a little crazyโ. The question is, do you think you can beat the record?
Continuing the theme of endurance, four Pembrokeshire women are about to embark on an extremely tough journey across the Atlantic Ocean. Sophie (32), Polly (50), Janine (70), and Miyah (24) form Team Cruising Free and they are attempting the gruelling 3,200-mile unassisted journey from Lanzarote to Antigua for charity.

The crew will row all day, in two hour shifts and the journey is expected to take 50 days to complete. In addition to hitting a fundraising target of ยฃ100,000, the quartet hope to break two world records. Sophie is aiming to become the first person living with cystic fibrosis (CF) to row an ocean and Janine the oldest woman to row any ocean.
You can donate HERE and follow the team via their Instagram account as they row across the Atlantic. The launch is expected to be on Monday 27th January at the earliest.
